Showcase Rules
1. Showcase will be governed by PONY rules. Each team must be individually insured and show proof of insurance at check-in Saturday morning.
2. All games are for exposure purposes. There will be no overall showcase champion.
3. Home/Visiting team is already established. Your schedule will tell you if you are home or visitor. There will be no formal infield done on any of the fields. You may take infield warm-ups on the sides/foul territory area of the infield and behind the temporary fences.
4. All games have one hour twenty (80) minute maximum time limit. Games will be drop dead at one hour twenty (80) minutes, but batter at plate will be allowed to finish her at bat. 7-Innings will be considered a full game and will end at that point, even if there is time left. If the game is tied after 7-Innings, and/or the time has not elapsed, the international tiebreaker will be used. If there is still a tie at the end of one hour twenty minutes, the game will end in a tie.
5. Please make sure you hurry your team off at the completion of the game. Teams should be ready to play 30 minutes prior to scheduled game time.
6. You will be allowed free defensive substitutions at any time during the games. You may bat eleven players. Batting order changes must be reported. You will be allowed to use a courtesy runner for pitcher and catcher at anytime, when there are 2 outs it will be mandatory for the catcher. The courtesy runner may be the last batted out or any one not in the batting order.
7. The only run rule that will be in effect will be eight (8) after 5 Innings
8. This is a showcase tournament, NO PROTESTS.
9. Check in at the field your first game is scheduled on. You will need to go to the covered area in the field pod you are at for assistance and to report scores, Each team’s coach or scorekeeper is responsible for reporting the team’s game scores.
10. At check in please, provide a contact cell number, hotel info (how many rooms), and have your proof of insurance with you. Make sure we have a contact number for you in case of schedule changes. Tournament Director, Park Officials, and the Umpire-in-Chief will determine any schedule changes. In the event of weather-related postponements, the showcase playing schedule may be subject to modification which may be made irrespective of the five-game guarantee.
